Knights of ColumbusThe Knights of Columbus (K of C) was founded in 1882 by Fr. Michael L. McGivney and is open to all laymen who are practicing Catholics and who desire to share the spiritual legacy of Fr. McGivney.
Today the K. of C. has become the largest lay organization in the Catholic Church. Currently, there are over 1.6 million Knights. Together with their failies, the Knights are nearly 6 million strong. Our Council, Junction City Council 1029, was founded in 1905. We presently have over 200 members in our council.
Knights of Columbus members are committed to the exemplification of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism, and the defense of the Priesthood. It is firmly committed to the protection of human life, from conception to natural death, and to the preservation and defense of the family. It was on these bedrock principals that the order was founded.
Our council works towards those principals by many means. For example, our brother knights and their family members support our church through particication in the various church ministries. (Eucharistic ministers, ushers, choir, CCD, RCIA, School activities and projects). We are involved in many other church and community charitable and fun activities, all working towards those principals of our order previously mentioned.
If you are interested in joining this organization of Catholic men please contact any Knight or call the Grand Knight of our coucil. For more information CLICK HERE.
